Carole Hodge is a long-time student of developments in Yugoslavia and its successor states, and has held a number of academic positions both in the UK and in the region. She travelled to Bosnia and Herzegovina frequently before, during and after the war, and initiated and directed two major projects at the University of Glasgow, funded by the European Commission, which were primarily aimed at reconciliation amongst the communities through educational activities. She has also worked in Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia as election supervisor for the OSCE.
Hodge has had numerous articles published in the British and American press and has frequently participated in conferences and other international fora related to political and social developments in the region. She is currently working on a book on the Hague courts.
